Jiwa Eco Escape is nestled on the verdant slopes of Mount Batukaru, above the stunning rice terraces of Karya Sari. Our sustainably-focused lodge invites you to unwind, recharge, and connect with the beauty of Bali, its people, and its culture. Surrounded by emerald forests, Jiwa offers a sanctuary away from the urban clamor and far from the hustle.

At Jiwa, we embrace our role as nature's stewards. Mount Batukaru's rainforests are the only remaining on the island while its water sources serve one third of all Bali. From recycled plastic pool decking to waste-water gardens throughout the property, learn more about our dedication to true eco tourism and the many ways in which we focus on reducing our impact here on the island.

While here, enjoy a variety of offerings from our lodge and beyond. Have a massage by the river or take a dip in Jiwa's natural, living pool. We also offer a variety of excursions where guests can trek through Batukuru's rainforests, explore the majesty of local rice terraces and waterfalls, visit Belimbing's monkey forest, and discover all of Pupuan's cultural treasures.

Our commitment to sustainability extends to our kitchen, The Blue Cup Warung. Taste the flavors of Bali through thoughtfully-crafted dishes made from locally-sourced ingredients. Jiwa's gardens and local farmers supply a substantial part of what is served each day. Our menu offers something for everyone. The dining experience ensures a healthy approach while we consciously consider the path food takes to our tables.

We are all guests in nature, it has its own residence. Refreshingly, Jiwa is a wild and untamed place. Knowing this is part of the charm and challenge, something key when traveling in the wider more remote parts of this beautiful island. The lodge teams with a variety of flora and fauna, thoughtfully preserved and maintained. We are opening Jiwa in SUMMER 2026 with a single accommodation, the Bamboo Bungalow. Rumah Sungai is in use as the other four bungalows are being built on our property just up the road. That means Jiwa is ALL YOURS during your current stay with us. Other than the occasional day-package guests, the pool, sauna, massage bale, and kitchen are all part of your own personal escape.

Please note that there is NO ANNOYANCE from construction up the road. You will not be bothered with sound or activity as the current property is separate. Also note that the yoga/retreat platform is not yet ready as it is on the other piece of land. All other activities, facilities, and excursions are fully operational during your stay.
